EuroLeague owners met at Lake Como and voted to reject the NBA's merger offer, reportedly because they felt it undervalued the league. They also discussed expanding beyond their 13 license holders, which could keep the NBA out of some cities. The NBA and FIBA responded with a joint statement that they remain committed to a 16-team European league, which could start as early as 2027. Barcelona said it would consider an amended offer, and sources say talks remain open.
