After a summer of star additions in Philadelphia, second-year guard VJ Edgecombe is winning over the veterans with his maturity, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Chris Hine writes. After LeBron James signed, Edgecombe wanted to start a group chat for the starting five, though he felt it should come from Tyrese Maxey. New teammate Jaylen Brown and coach Nick Nurse both praised him.
"I love VJ already. That's one of my favorite people in the world, and we just met." — Jaylen Brown
"I always say that we got a eight-year vet right out of the blocks with his composure and his demeanor." — Nick Nurse
