The NBA sent a memo to its authorized gaming operators, including DraftKings and FanDuel, ordering three changes, ESPN's David Purdum and Shams Charania reported. Parlays can no longer group "under" props on the same player, "under" props are off the board for players expected to play fewer than 12 minutes, and "first-of" micro-bets such as the opening tip or the first basket are gone. The league says its partners make up roughly 99% of the U.S. betting market. The move follows the Jontay Porter and Terry Rozier cases: Porter admitted in court he left games early to help bettors on unders, while Rozier denies the federal allegations and has pleaded not guilty. Bets on 10-day and two-way players, and props on turnovers, fouls and missed free throws, were already barred.
"And where we landed right now, we think, is the right balance of those two objectives." — Scott Kaufman-Ross, NBA executive vice president
