Jaden McDaniels agreed to a one-year, $40MM extension with Minnesota that covers 2029-30, bringing him to $124MM over the next four years, ESPN's Shams Charania reported. According to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, it is the first time a player with three guaranteed years left on a non-max contract has been extended. Charania reported the short deal sets up a bigger raise later: McDaniels will have 10 years of service when his next contract starts in 2030. He averaged 14.8 points on .515/.412/.835 shooting last season.
