The 2026-27 season tips off with an NBC/Peacock tripleheader: Celtics at Pistons (3 p.m. ET), 76ers at Knicks (7 p.m. ET) and Thunder at Spurs (9:30 p.m. ET). The champion Knicks hold their ring ceremony at 6:30 p.m. before facing a Philadelphia team they swept 4-0 in last year's East semifinals, and LeBron James and Jaylen Brown play their first regular-season games as Sixers. Detroit won an East-best 60 games last season, while Boston was the only unbeaten team in the preseason (4-0). The nightcap is a rematch of the West finals, which San Antonio won in seven games after taking four of five regular-season meetings.

Fantasy angleTobias Harris (left calf strain) misses the Spurs' opener and Dylan Harper is expected to start. The Sixers are without Dominick Barlow and Ariel Hukporti.
