Monday's 5 p.m. Central deadline passed with seven 2023 first-round picks extended, the lowest total since 2018, when five signed. All seven are five-year, fully guaranteed deals: Victor Wembanyama (max, projected at $255.2MM), Brandon Miller ($208.8MM), Amen Thompson ($208MM), Keyonte George ($155MM), Ausar Thompson ($155MM), Cason Wallace ($135MM plus $4MM in incentives) and Brandin Podziemski ($110MM). Wembanyama was the only max deal, and he passed on Rose Rule language that could have pushed his projection to $306MM. Fourteen eligible players, including Anthony Black, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Bilal Coulibaly, Scoot Henderson and Dereck Lively II, now head toward restricted free agency in 2027.
