Kings guard Ben Simmons tore his right Achilles at practice on Sunday and will have surgery, ending his 2026-27 season before it began. The 30-year-old sat out all of last season to focus on his health after years of back problems and was expected to start in Sacramento after averaging 10.5 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 17.4 minutes per preseason game. Coach Doug Christie now has to rework his rotation, with Maxime Raynaud (right patellar subluxation) and Dylan Cardwell (left calf strain) also out for a couple of weeks.
