Anthony Edwards scored 45 points with nine 3-pointers and 10 rebounds as Minnesota won 131-106 in Miami. He joins Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan as the only players with at least 40 points in more than one season opener. LaMelo Ball had 21 points in his Timberwolves debut, Jaden McDaniels 17 and Rudy Gobert 15 rebounds. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 35 on 13-of-19 shooting in his first Heat game, 21 of them in the first half, but fouled out. Minnesota outscored Miami 63-24 from three and closed the game on a 45-23 run.
