The NBA fined Celtics forward Paul George $2,000 for a flop on a fourth-quarter collision at midcourt with Detroit's Duncan Robinson in Tuesday's 121-113 loss to the Pistons. There was no call in the game; the league reviewed the play afterwards. The league is cracking down on "secondary, theatrical and exaggerated movement": a called flop is a non-unsportsmanlike technical with a free throw for the other team, fines grow for repeat offenders and a one-game suspension is possible after six or more.
"We're going to take a really hard stance on flopping." - James Jones, NBA head of basketball operations
