Dallas beat Indiana 121-105 for Dusty May's first NBA win, but Cooper Flagg left with left shoulder soreness. Late in the second quarter, with Dallas up 33, Aaron Nesmith fouled him hard on a fast break; Nesmith got a flagrant 1, and he and Naji Marshall both got technicals. Flagg made both free throws and then subbed out, after 14 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and a block in 17 minutes. May said he will be "evaluated the next couple days," so he may miss Saturday's home opener against San Antonio. Kyrie Irving scored 24 and P.J. Washington had 20 and 13.
"Nesmith's a great guy. Heck of a player. I've known him since he was in high school. An unfortunate play. Hopefully Coop's fine, but obviously it's something we wish wouldn't have happened." - Dusty May
