Kristaps Porzingis announced on Friday that he is stepping away from basketball. ESPN reports that it is not an official retirement and that Golden State can still use his $20 million salary in a trade before February's deadline. He signed a two-year, $40 million extension with the Warriors in late June. According to Hoops Rumors, the Warriors have been withholding his pay, and his $20MM player option for 2027/28 is only partially guaranteed for $3MM. Golden State are 6-3 and have won six in a row.
