Luka Doncic scored a season-high 53 points to lead the Lakers to a 124-118 win over the Portland Trail Blazers at Crypto.com Arena on Friday. A 62-foot heave at the halftime buzzer keyed the comeback. It was the sixth time this season that Doncic went past 40 points and the second time he topped 50, and he is now averaging a career-high 40.1 points per game through nine games.

"Luka can do some things that maybe a handful, if not no one, can do in basketball." — Lakers coach JJ Redick

"It's obviously a long season." — Luka Doncic

Fantasy angleAt 40.1 points per game Doncic is carrying points leagues; nothing in the report points to an injury or minutes risk.
