Ben Simmons' $2.45 million deal with Sacramento is non-guaranteed, but the salary continuation rule means the Kings must keep paying him while he is injured, The Athletic's John Hollinger reported. Hollinger added that Sacramento may keep him on the roster and use the contract in a trade. Kawhi Leonard learned of Simmons' torn Achilles from reporters during an interview.

"Oh, I didn't know that. Oh, damn, man, that's sad" — Kawhi Leonard
"don't be surprised if the Kings keep him on the roster and look to use his deal in a trade" — John Hollinger, The Athletic
